Hi, I’m Suzie Ross and I am on a mission to make Riichi Mahjong accessible to everyone!

Over the course of my 15-year career as a tech recruiter, I learned the value of human connection. But it was at the Mahjong table where I met some of my absolute best friends. In fact, my love for the game led me to launch a weekly Riichi Mahjong meetup that I have proudly hosted for over five years now (and still going)!  While running my meetup, I noticed there were a lot of people wanting to join that didn’t know how to play Riichi.

Riichi is incredibly fun, but it has a reputation for being fiercely competitive. Unfortunately, this cutthroat image scares many beginners away. I wanted to change that. I started teaching Riichi Mahjong classes to make the game approachable for everyone. However, I quickly noticed a problem: the standard tiles were confusing for new players, and the few "beginner" options on the market just weren't up to par. To fill this gap, my husband and I decided to invest in a laser cutter to make our own Learner-Friendly Riichi Mahjong tiles.

Using my years of playing experience and direct feedback from students, we designed tiles that eliminate confusion and speed up the learning process.

What started as a tool for my classes has now grown into a business, and we are thrilled to sell these tiles to anyone who wants to make learning Riichi welcoming, inclusive, and fun!
